Our unique counter top and display table is made out of bridge wood. Bridge wood is from the ‘Old Gandy Bridge’ over Tampa Bay. When it opened in 1924 at a cost of $3 million, the original Gandy Bridge was USA’s largest over-water span. The timber our tables are made of is from the recreational walkways, called catwalks, which were added to the Gandy Bridge in the early 1950’s. This Heart Pine timber withstood the hot, cold and rough bay weather, nature’s traffic and the weight of thousand of visitors over the decades for over 65 years. In 2015 over 8,000 ft of walkways were dismantled and the recovered wood is used for our furnitures. If you are interested in bridge furniture, please ask us.
